Instead, the extended families take care of the elderly, and they are held in high esteem because of their age. Often, in my ministry, I visit the elderly- sometimes in nursing homes. Sometimes they are loved and taken care of by their families. Sometimes neglected. I believe the Bible says, if a man will not provide for his family, he is worse than an infidel. Not just because we're related..but also because they've devoted their lives to ours..its the least we can do. out of love.
